On the surface, one can speculate this to be true simply because Dennis would prefer a British driver win the championship in his British/German car; however, there is another possibility and that is that Ron Dennis is not only a weasel, but a racist weasel (racist toward Latin's).

He had a terrible relationship with Senna, a worse one with Montoya and the worst relationship with Alonso. Not even being champions made it easier for Senna or Alonso and when it came to Prost, another champion things were not that cheeky either.

He did; however, seem to really like Hakkinen and we know he loves Hamilton. This is also a thread that has not gone unnoticed within F1 and Flavio Briatore gives us a little insight from his perspective:

"Dennis has often reiterated to be very good at managing drivers, especially the Latin ones (said sarcastically). With the problems he's had with (Ayrton) Senna, (Juan Pablo) Montoya and Alonso, he must have lost the instructions manual... Maybe he did not study Latin at school..."

Why am I not surprised?
