Dumb or dumberer

As everyone knows, Ferrari started last week's Japanese Grand Prix with intermediate wet tires, instead of the mandatory extreme wet tires. It became mandatory to use the extreme wet tires when the FIA sent an email less than an hour before the start of the race saying so. But, for some *mysterious* reason, Ferrari did not get that email until seven minutes AFTER the race started.

As a result, Ferrari was forced to pit their cars during the first 5- laps or face disqualification. That pit-stop moved both Ferrari drivers to the back of the grid and the rest is history.

But, what is interesting is how people everywhere have since interpreted Ferrari's decision to start with inters as dumb!

Apparently, the other drivers and teams found the inters so impossible to drive that their assumption was it would have been just as impossible for Ferrari.

I say mind your own business! Who knows what was Ferrari was up to? In fact, after the race, Kimi said he was totally fine on the inters and that visibility was more the issue, not the tires.

But, ultimately logic must take a front seat. Remember, we're talking about Ferrari. Does anyone think that the team that has the most successful record in any kind of motor sports in history would make such a dumb mistake?

We're not talking about McLaren, the team dumb (or dumberer) enough to photocopy 780-pages worth of illegally obtained Ferrari documents - which cost them $100 million in fines, and the 2007 Constructor's Championship - at a public print shop run by a Ferrari fan.

Now that's dumb!
