McLaren sabotages Alonso in China
This is not necessarily a mystery, though, Hamilton simply opted for a much lighter fuel strategy hoping that starting in front of everyone else will help him with visibility if it rains. Looking back at Japan, one can see why. Hamilton had no issue driving while in the lead, but had plenty issues when following other cars.
What is interesting about Hamilton's sudden fuel strategy is that Alonso had/has no clue what strategy he is on, and was stunned to find out he is so heavy, while Hamilton is so light.
When asked about the fuel strategy, he had this tosay:
"I don't know when we are stopping, let alone the Ferraris," he said, before telling Italy's Sky TV that the championship "has been decided off the track".
"I'm not thinking of this championship any more".
And can you blame him?
What happened to Dennis' "equality among his drivers", or his claim that his team is "transparent"?
This is exactly the kind of thing the FIA was talking about after the final Stepney-gate hearing when they said they will watch McLaren closely to make sure they don't intentionally try to sabotage Alonso's season the rest of the way.
If making a decision, which directly gives one driver the championship and the other no chance at the championship isn't considered sabotage, then what is?
Hello... FIA?
Is anyone there??
