Dennis lets cat out of the bag

Ron Dennis is a weasel, but besides that he is also the head of McLaren. As such, his comments not only reflect his own personal thoughts, but also the thoughts of his team. After the Chinese Grand Prix he was asked about Hamilton's error and had this to say:

“The problem was rain and his (Hamilton’s) tyres were in the worst condition, but we weren’t at all fazed about Kimi. We weren’t racing Kimi, we were basically racing Fernando.”

Hold the presses!

Isn't Fernando Alonso a McLaren driver as well? So, how could Dennis, Hamilton and McLaren be racing *against* themselves?

In his statement, Dennis intentionally separates himself, Hamilton (and whom ever else he considers part of "we" at McLaren), from Alonso. This statement clearly illustrates the division right down the center of McLaren, and verifies exactly what Alonso has been saying all along, which is that he is no longer a member of the team and the team has shifted 100% of it's efforts and allegiance towards Hamilton.

Short of having a reliable car that does not violate any rules, Alonso is on his own.

Brazil should be interesting.
